Under the esteemed Patronage and Presence of His Excellency the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, and the Presence of the Deputy of Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, we are delighted to announce Iraq’s Petroleum Industry Workshop: Today’s Innovations for Tomorrow’s Challenges, a pivotal two-day event to be held in Baghdad in October 2025. This workshop is technically organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Central Iraq Section, in collaboration with Iraq’s Ministry of Oil, affiliated entities, and prominent international oil companies (IOCs) and service providers operating in Iraq.
This workshop is designed to be a critical platform, uniting decision-makers from Iraqi authorities, operators, service providers, subject matter experts, researchers, and prospective investors. It will address the technical, environmental, and economic challenges tied to field development and production operations in Iraq, while paving the way for innovative solutions and collaborative opportunities. The workshop aims to enhance the operation of mature and marginal fields, promote mutual growth for all stakeholders, and raise awareness of current and future advancements in the upstream oil and gas sector.
This workshop presents an exceptional opportunity for local and international companies to explore avenues for cooperation and investment within Iraq’s thriving oil and gas industry. Organized by a distinguished committee of Iraqi and foreign professionals, the workshop will feature a strategic panel session, multiple thematic panel discussions, presentations (based on abstracts), technology demonstrations, exhibitions, and interactive breakout sessions.
