Mr. Fayyad Hassan Nema

Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq for Energy Affairs

Mr. Fayyad is a petroleum expert with deep expertise across key domains of Iraq’s oil industry, including manufacturing, downstream, and upstream operations. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several high-level technical and administrative positions across affiliated companies and directorates within the Ministry of Oil. His leadership roles have included serving as Director General (DG) of the South Oil Company, DG of the Studies, Planning, and Follow-up Directorate, and DG of the Technical Directorate. He progressed in positions and served as Deputy Minister of Oil for Downstream Affairs and later as Senior Deputy Minister for Upstream Affairs. Currently, Mr. Nehmeh serves as Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq for Energy Affairs, where he continues to contribute his extensive knowledge to shaping national energy strategies and supporting the development of the energy sector under the current government.





Prof. Dr. Dhiya Al-Jumeily

Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq for Smart Management and
AI Affairs

Prof. Dhiya Al-Jumeily OBE is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Liverpool John Moores University with over 30 years of experience in AI research and its applications toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). His work spans healthcare, environment, safety, and education, with a strong focus on impactful collaborations across 20+ countries, particularly in the MENA region.Rooted in Iraq and inspired by Baghdad’s legacy of early algorithms, Prof. Al-Jumeily has authored over 500 publications and led international scholarly exchange through founding the eSystem Engineering Society (eSES) and the IEEE-supported DeSE Conference, which connects 200+ attendees annually from 25+ countries. He has supervised 25+ PhD students and mentored 20+ academics whose work bridges academia, industry, and real-world AI applications such as intelligent environmental and healthcare systems. His projects have attracted over £7.5 million in funding. In recognition of his contributions, he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2020 and named among the Top 30 Most Influential Arabs in AI in 2022.
