We are pleased to announce that Mr. Baraa Zubaidi has been elected as the Deputy Chairperson – Communications, Student Chapters, and Young Professionals (YPs) at the SPE Central Iraq Section. This decision was made by the section Board of Directors and came into effect on May 9, 2024.

In this position, the section board authorizes Mr. Baraa to make decisions in managing communications & coordinating with various stakeholders to organize joint events, overseeing the activities of the permanent student chapters and ensuring their effective operation, and making decisions that benefit the YPs within the section.

This decision was made after he demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in his previous roles within the SPE Baghdad Section, where he served as the Communications Chairperson and Student Chapters Liaison. His extensive experience and commitment to fostering professional growth among young engineers and geoscientists make him a valuable addition to the leadership team of the SPE Central Iraq Section.
